Trevor Siemian is an American professional football player and quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings. He is a four-year NFL veteran who was drafted in 2015. Trevor John Siemian was born on December 26, 1991 in Windermere, Orange County, Florida. He received his high school education from Olympia High School in Orange County. In high school, Siemian wrote in both baseball and football, excelling in both. He played three seasons of high school football and threw for 6,144 yards and 53 touchdowns, setting a county record. In addition, Siemian was not only a talented athlete, but also an outstanding scientist. As a high school senior, he entered the National Honors Society and received offers from various schools, including Harvard University. Trevor Siemian studied communications at Northwestern University. He was red-shirted his freshman year (2010) and earned him his fifth year of college football eligibility. In his sophomore year, he was primarily used as a backup quarterback but still finished on 16 of 26 passes, which he completed for 256 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Siemian saw more playing time next year (2012) and didn’t hesitate to show the stuff he was made of. He completed 128 of 218 passes for 1,312 yards, 6 touchdowns and 3 interceptions and led the school to victory in the TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl. He continued his impressive improvement for his last two seasons in college, throwing a total of 550 of 934 passes (58.9% completion) for 5,931 yards, 27 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. Trevor Siemian was drafted in the 2015 NFL draft. Not exactly a highly rated draft, but luck did shine on him when he was selected in the seventh round by the Denver Broncos. In his first season with the Broncos, Siemian didn’t get much playing time since he was the third-string quarterback, but that changed over the next two seasons. In 26 games for the Broncos, he completed 495 of 835 passes (59.3%) for 5,686 yards and 30 touchdowns with 24 interceptions. After three seasons with the Broncos, Siemian was traded to the Minnesota Vikings in March 2018.
