Elizabeth Hurley posted a special message on Instagram Tuesday morning, just hours after her ex Steve Bing – the father of her son, Damian Hurley – committed suicide. According to numerous outlets, Bing ended his life on Monday when he jumped from the 27th floor of a high-rise luxury apartment building in Century City, California.
According to People magazine, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner confirmed that a man was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:10 p.m. on Monday, in an apparent suicide. A final determination for a cause of death and identification of the body is pending.

Hurley posted a series of photos of herself with the 55-year-old producer that were taken when they were together. In the caption, the actress wrote that the news of Bing’s death was “devastating.”
The Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery star also revealed that she had started to get close to Bing again during the past year, and the last time she spoke with him was on Damian’s birthday in April.
“I am saddened beyond belief that my ex Steve is no longer with us. It is a terrible end,” wrote Hurley. “Our time together was very happy and I’m posting these pictures because although we went through some tough times, it’s the good, wonderful memories of a sweet, kind man that matter. In the past year we had become close again. We last spoke on our son’s 18th birthday. This is devastating news and I thank everyone for their lovely messages ❤️”
Damian also posted on Instagram about his father’s death. He posted a picture of a red sky and thanked everyone that had reached out to him following the “devastating news.”
“This is a very strange and confusing time and I’m immensely grateful to be surrounded by my phenomenal family and friends 🖤” wrote the teenager.
Former President Bill Clinton – one of Bing’s good friends – tweeted on late Monday that he “loved Steve Bing very much” and he would miss him and his enthusiasm. Clinton added that Bing had a big heart, and he was willing to do anything he could for the people and causes that he believed in.
“I hope he’s finally found peace,” wrote the former POTUS.

When Elizabeth Hurley got pregnant with Damian, Steve Bing denied that he was the father of the baby. In 2002, a DNA test proved that Bing was Damian’s dad. He was also the father of a daughter named Kira Bonder, who he had with former professional tennis player, Lisa Bonder.

Last year, a trustee from Steve’s dad Peter Bing’s estate filed court papers in an attempt to exclude Damian and Kira from Peter’s trust. A judge eventually ruled in July 2019 that both grandchildren were entitled to a portion of the trust.
